Red tailed-hawk
Took in this beautiful adult red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) that walked into somebody’s garage and let him pick it up. Missing about half the tail feathers, a few small nicks and cuts, and one eye has some issues. Doesn’t seem to have any apparent outward injuries, bird is hog fat too! Will go to the rehab vet to get thoroughly checked out.
Brandi and I are still debating the sex of the bird. I say female, she says male.
